Incidents on TCM route AP1

Route AP1 has just been revised on 18 May 2006 and makes life more comfortable while taking the bus in the morning. The bus will not turn on to Avenida de Venceslau de Morais and instead go through Avenida 1 de Maio. Although my bus stop has switched to Avenida 1 de Maio, less passengers take the bus nowadays and there's no need to be squished like sardines. Thus, not many people know of the route change which caused people to take the wrong bus. One young schoolchild took the wrong bus thinking it was Route 18 on an AP1 bus. Don't ask me why. I thought people would look at the front sign on the bus prior to boarding it.

Anyways, on one incident a young woman alighted at the bus stop on Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. While she exited at the door, her head bumped into the door frame. She said, "Wow, what happened?". Some of the passengers replied, "You're too tall to fit through the door". Normally, you would say, "Watch your head next time". But we got an odd response instead.

Typhoon Chanchu came and skirted Macau causing no damage at all! Initially, everyone was bracing for one of the worst typhoons to hit the Pearl River Delta. Fortunately, we got out unscathed without hoisting Signal 8.

TDM (the local Macau channel) has announced they will broadcast all 64 matches for the World Cup in Germany next month. That is good news, as TDM is a free public channel (one in Chinese and one in Portuguese). Unlike in HK, where you need to subscribe to Cable TV to get all the matches on your TV. Fortunately, I've already subscribed to Cable TV, so even if I'm in HK, I can still catch it. It is sad to see that HK has to suffer again with a paid subscription to watch the World Cup. It happened last time in 2002. TVB/ATV just couldn't fetch the broadcasting rights for it. It is going to be sleepless month in June.

It is less chaotic now. People in Macau are lazy enough not to walk the extra block to take the normal bus route.
I will be keeping up to date with the World Cup for sure. The enthusiasm in Asia is quite good, especially with the legality of soccer gambling in Macau/HK.
